The Secret To Fulfillment
Everyone wants perfection. Filled by what, we do not know. All we know is emptiness and emptiness hurts. We want to be full.
And so we go to find the world. Finding that person or thing that will satisfy that endless longing we feel inside.
We can spend our whole lives watching. Many do. And we can end just as empty as when we started.
Other people – intelligent as they are – must look inside them to hear. Makes sense when you think about it. Especially if you’ve already searched outside for perfection, and learned the hard way: You can’t buy a house big enough to perfect.
You may not have enough money in the bank to create a sense of fulfillment.
You can never have enough friends.
There is nothing wrong with these things. But their perfection is nothing. It’s like trying to eat a mirage. It’s like watching the Food Channel on TV and expecting to get stuff.
So it makes sense to look inside. But often when we start looking inside we don’t like what we see. Because the first thing you see is the lungs and fountains and excrement: the cloud of unresolved emotions that surrounds almost every human being on this earth.
The reason it went unresolved is because you didn’t want to (or maybe didn’t know) to deal with it in the first place. This is why people are so driven to look outside themselves. Because they see the fountain and conclude that they are the fountain. Otherwise froth is all they can find.
They don’t realize how easy it can be to blow through.
How? By processing your thoughts and feelings.
Processing is the line that separates genius from insanity. It’s a way for you to blow through your own lungs so you can get to the real thing. And it’s very easy to do. Very simple. Although deadly effective.
Just get out the paper and pen and start writing down your frustrations, your hurts, your anger, your bitterness, your fears. Even your tender!
Once you ‘get it’ that processing really works – your life changes on a fundamental level. It’s like getting the key to freedom. You begin to feel hope. You start to take your power back.
But as wonderful as it is, processing won’t give you perfection. It just removes the veil so you can see what’s more real. See what’s behind – or beyond – the fluff.
And once you are, now it’s a little more intense. Now you face your obstacles, your boundaries, your walls. separation wall
And processing reaches a point of diminishing returns.
Not that you’ve ever reached a point in your life where processing isn’t necessary. But there are some places where you need more.
The inner walls are made of pain. They secrete pain. unexplained pain And you can’t talk your way out of the pain. I proved it. To myself, at least.
We all have walls of pain inside us that separate us from fulfillment. To one degree or another.
Walls separate us. Separation causes pain. Separation keeps us from perfection. Little mystery there. If you look at it and don’t face it, it’s just a mystery.
Here’s one way to face it:
Imagine that separation; that pain; Like ‘blanket of bitterness’ or ‘sheet of despair’. Whatever you want to call it. Imagine this blanket as made of barbed wire and stickers and thorns and small flammable pieces of metal. or something similar. Use whatever makes the most sense to you.
A blanket of painful discomfort.
Spend some time each day wrapping the sheet around you. Then feel your bitterness… your hostility… your frustration… whatever. Let the feeling absorb into you. Right through your skin. Feel the rawness. Feel clearly.
Meaning: Don’t tell yourself a story about those feelings. Don’t explain them. Do not justify them.
If you feel them clearly, they will leave on their own. If you do not feel them clearly – they will not be released.
That is the key.
The more you can feel what’s in that blanket of pain – the thinner the blanket becomes. The more powerful you are. Because you are taking your power back. You are actively dealing with life. On your terms.
And you come closer to true perfection. The value of which is more than all the money in the world.
Perfection comes when you completely and completely and honestly give up your delusion of separateness.
You won’t get there in a day. But you can start now.
