The Essentials of Unwavering Faith
Faith in a Christian is the foundation of our profession. Right off the bat, we are reminded in scripture that no person can please God without exercising faith. It is clear that God is a spirit and we are human, so it takes faith to approach the supernatural world. Faith develops through action. This action is based on God’s promise. Have you been in a situation where there is no hope of humanely speaking? Yet because of your faith in God’s promises, there is a deep-seated assurance that things will turn out right. I have been there many times. It never ceases to amaze me how the Lord comes to us at the seemingly last minute.
I say it all the time, your faith grows with the challenges you face. Forget great faith, if you shy away and struggle with life’s challenges. This brings me to a recent incident by a pastor in a nearby town. The pastor narrated the story to me sometime in November 2011, one of his elders’ new Toyota Sequoia was stolen. The incident happened in the morning when the elder’s wife was warming up the car. He went back to his garage to get something, when he returned, the car was gone in a flash. They were crazy about this event, who wouldn’t be? The police were notified and the pastor was also notified. Unsettled by the incident, the pastor invited the couple over and grasped at the scripture in Isaiah 41:21, which reads, “Make your argument, says the Lord, show your strong argument, says the king of Jacob.”
He prayed for a deal with them and ordered that the car be recovered within twenty-four hours. He did not waver in his belief but believed the case was settled. He called me the first week of New Year 2012 to say that the car had been recovered and returned to his saints. According to him, the vehicle was safely parked without any damage and did not appear to have been driven since it was stolen. It is a great miracle of protection and restoration. I have witnessed great miracles at home and especially at crusades and conferences abroad. Our faith is the catalyst for our walk with God. This article only briefly discusses the need for unwavering faith.
Seven Essentials of Unwavering Faith
The grace to be strong, calm, and steadfast when the winds, waves, and floods of life’s challenges press upon us. Persistence is a core of your faith. “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Most people play the church note because they don’t really have a clear understanding of how powerful faith in Christ can be. In many cases the Lord Jesus had to open the understanding of His hearers to give them a clear picture of His message. Once they got it, they were more determined to follow him despite the opposing elites. Your faith will be well anchored with divine illumination.
I see it as a spirit of courage that is enriched by the claims of God’s promises. It’s a bold stand taken because God’s Word says so, and we don’t care what others say. You say, I have resolved to believe in God, that is where I stand.
It was difficult to distract the apostle Paul from his mission and calling. A very essential element of steadfast faith. The apostle Paul declared, “For which cause I also have endured these things: yet I am not ashamed: for I know him in whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to keep what I promised him against that day” (2 Timothy 1: 12, KJV). That’s my friend, that kind of belief makes for a good personality.
You gain this as the Lord allows to come to you in different situations. You start to learn to trust him because you know he’s gotten you out before and will definitely do it again. It comes with divine comfort because your heart rests on Him.
It overrides fear because faith and fear never coexist. Steadfast faith is a bitter opponent against fear. Fear not, stand up and fight the fight of faith. “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, I will not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation” (Isaiah 12:2, KJV)
Faith is the eye of the future. You are balanced because your faith is unwavering. You can see the solution through the window of faith. Its powerful presentation is replayed in Hebrew; Here is his, “All these died in faith, not having received the promise, but saw them away, and consented to them, and embraced them, and acknowledged that they were strangers and pilgrims in the world.” (Hebrews 11:13, KJV).
These will work together and create overwhelming faith for the glory of Christ and the blessing of others. Keep the faith.
