Nothing less than what Christ Himself calls us to a life of comparison, right? Did he not say that those who follow him love him more than mother, father, brother, sister? Didn’t he ask us to give our lives to spread the gospel revolution he ignited?

So, on second glance, we don’t deny every feature of North Korea’s disturbing lifestyle, rather we object to the target of Korean affection. We want to be honored thus for one worthy of all this pain and suffering, one worthy of daily sacrifice, who will repay abundantly, not with more restrictions and more poverty, not more famine and death and international shame, but with eternal life, with joys unspeakable and Full of glory, with the unbridled joy of forgiveness of sins, all items that are not within the power of the NK government to offer.

Lord Jesus, we pray that your message will dispel the darkness. Show us the part. amen
