Law of Attraction Manifestation Exercise #18 – How to Change the Negative in As Little As 21 Days

Did you know that you can change a negative core belief in just 21 days? Even if it’s a thought you’ve had for 30 years?

Or can you create a new positive habit in 21 days that can last a lifetime?

I’ve always loved that scientific statistic and it’s a great practice to use when learning how to apply the Law of Attraction.

The great part about it is there are so many different things you can use it for.

The first step is to draw or print a calendar for the month. I found a free one that you can use at freeprintablecalendar.net. I love this particular site because you can also add a personal photo on top to help motivate you and you don’t have to sign up for anything to use the program.

Or if you don’t have a printer available, you can simply draw a calendar yourself.

Now decide what you want to change or accomplish.

I recommend starting with one thing at a time until the old habit is broken before starting a new thing so you don’t get overwhelmed, but if you can handle more than one — go for it! Just make sure you print a separate calendar for each idea.

So what do you want to create new habits? Do you want to start meditating, taking your vitamins, exercising, eating healthy? Do you want to start organizing better? Start staying on top of your mail, on top of cleaning your house, on top of chores, over your money?

The new habit you want to create must be done for 21 consecutive days. Remember, if you miss a day, you have to start from the beginning. But keeping the calendar in front of you makes it more fun and gives you a sense of accomplishment.

For each day you complete your task, you mark the date with a big X. Anytime you feel like slacking off, repeat to yourself “Don’t break the chain!”…”Don’t break the chain!” Look at your calendar at a row of those cute X’s. You don’t want to stop now!

You want to see at least 21 of those x’s in a row. After 21 days your new behavior has now become a new habit and after that marking the x’s will just be plain fun.

Now if you want to use it to change an old negative belief?

Use a confirmation! At least 5 times a day for 21 consecutive days. Again mark each day with an “X” when you have done this. Make sure when you first wake up, mid-morning, lunchtime, mid-afternoon and before going to bed. (The time of day doesn’t really matter, and if you choose to say it more than about 5 times, even better — as long as you do it!)

Here are some examples of affirmations you can use:

If you feel negative about money: “Money comes to me effortlessly and easily every day and in every way” or “I always deserve enough money because I am”.

If you feel anxious: “At the core of my being I am always peaceful and calm”

If you don’t feel 100% physically: “I am in perfect physical health and have never felt better in my life!”

If you want to feel really good overall, try this: “I’m getting better every day and in every way!” (It really works great! It covers everything from health, work, exercise, relationships, building new habits. You’re covering the spectrum with these simple words!)

There are quite a few other affirmations that you can find on the internet if they don’t seem right to you.

Make sure you keep your calendar somewhere you can see it. On your refrigerator, bulletin board at work or even on your bedroom wall so you can see it every night and every morning.

So try this simple exercise! We all know how fast 21 days go, especially if you’re trying to break a bad habit or get rid of a negative thought you’ve had for years! 21 days is just a drop in the bucket.
