The Prophesied Global Religion and the Return of Christ

World War One World Government is also predicted to see another development – a religious system that will support one-world government and anti-religious fanaticism.

In his vision, recorded in Revelation chapter 13, John describes what he saw.

“Then I saw another beast come out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship God. The first The beast, whose fatal wound was healed. And he displayed great and miraculous signs, even made fire come down from heaven to the earth in full view of men. Because of the signs he was given power to act on behalf of the first beast. , he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He made them that ordered an image to be set up in honor of the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and kill those who refused to worship the image” (Revelation 13:11 -16).

Here we are told that another government system will take its place in the end times. This time it is a religious system with “horns like a lamb”, but speaking with the authority of a dragon … clearly identified by the Bible as Satan (Revelation 12 and other scriptures).

Notice that this dragon has two horns, speaking of two major religious systems that will converge in these days. Their object of worship will be the world ruler, a man completely possessed by Satan. “The coming of the lawless one will correspond to the works of Satan who will appear in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders and will do all kinds of evil that deceives those who are perishing” (2 Thessalonians 2:9,10).

The result of their worship will be Satan himself. “Men worshiped the dragon because he gave authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?” (Revelation 13:4)

John points to an incident in the world ruler’s life that is most interesting. He says that “the beast seemed to have a deadly wound in its head, but the deadly wound was healed. The whole world was amazed and followed the beast” (Revelation 13:3).

This counterfeit resurrection of “the resurrection of the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived” (Rev. 13:14) will convince the nations that He is indeed the “risen Lord”. Those who use miracles as a criterion of judgment would do well to take note.

The religious system will embrace the whole world. “All the inhabitants of the earth shall worship the beast—those whose names are not written in the book of life for the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world. He who has one ear, let him hear” (Rev. 13:8,9).

At this time those who surrender themselves to the Lord Jesus Christ will pay the ultimate price. Rev. John. 6:9 speaks of them. “When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and the testimony they had maintained … and they were told to wait a little longer … until their fellow servants and The number of the brothers who were killed as they were accomplished” (Revelation 6:9-11).

The question we should be asking ourselves now is whether or not there is a religious coalition taking place in our generation, embracing all “faiths” and moving towards a common destiny. Are there any two specific groups that stand out from the others in this quest for unity?

Undoubtedly, the answer to both these questions is yes.

The New Age movement is indeed very busy promoting the concept of “interfaith” and New Age philosophy and theology, infiltrating all religious groups, especially a backward “church”. Through New Age World Peace Prayer services, people are taught to believe that through prayer we can all be one – regardless of truth and falsehood, good and evil – Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, occultist, animist, Satanist, whatever. Aquarius has come of age and all divisions must be removed. God and man, saint and sinner, Christian and heathen … all must be one harmonious whole, living in peace.

The New Age movement is also behind the “Peace Poles”, two meter high obelisks with letters in Perspex, which read: “Let there be peace on earth”. More than 60,000 of them are said to have been planted around the world. South Africa has one in Table Mountain and another in Bloemfontein. All religions are invited to participate in the “Peace Prayer” offered during the tree planting ceremony.

One cannot help but wonder what Elijah would have said to our generation! He refused to pray with the prophets of Baal in his day. “How long will you waver between two opinions?” he shouted. “If the Lord be God, follow him; but if Baal be God, follow him. You call upon the name of your god, and I will call upon the name of the Lord. The god who answers by fire—he is God” (1 Kings 18:21-24 ). God showed that day that He is the uncontested God of the universe. “I am the Lord, and there is none else; beside me there is no god” (Isa. 45:5).

The quest for unity at any cost is on. Leaders of the New Age movement, frustrated by the growing resistance of “born-again” Christians, declared in their 13-point plan for world peace that Christians who resisted the plan would be dealt with. If necessary they will be “exterminated” and the world will be “purified” (13 Principles of the Plan).

Claiming that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to God infuriates New Age advocates. Christ said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

The early Church believed him and Peter, full of the Holy Spirit, firmly declared: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12) .

One of the two main religious groups involved in the concept of “interfaith” is today’s modernist, humanist, apologetics for the Church of Jesus Christ, very graphically Rev. Described in 3:14-22.

It is the Laodicean Church that symbolizes the elements of the last church age. “I know your deeds, you are neither cold nor hot. I want you to be one or the other! So, because you are warm – hot or cold – I am going to spit you out of my mouth. You say, I am rich; I have acquired wealth. And nothing is needed. But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.”

It is the opinion of the Lord that those who keep His name, but refuse to acknowledge Him as sovereign Lord. What a joy it is to know that there will always be a true church of Jesus Christ, preserved by the power of God and established in His name. Found in every community and walk of life, they are people who love the Lord and serve Him with all their heart, mind, soul and strength.

The Lord has a special word of encouragement for them: “I know that your strength is weak, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name… Because you have kept my commandments to endure, I will also keep you. Those who live on earth To test them the time of trial is coming upon the whole world. I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one takes your crown” (Revelation 3:8-11).

But it is the apostate “church” of the end times that interests us at this point. About to enter into an adulterous and idolatrous union with those who absolutely refuse to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord of Lords and King of Kings, the mighty (so-called) Christian church is in great trouble as it stands on the verge of losing its identity as “Christians”, in the first century AD. Antioch is a title given to early believers (Acts 11:26).

Christ’s challenge is as relevant to our generation as it is to us. “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:33).

Sadly, its leaders deny that the Bible is the Word of God, declaring that it should be rewritten so that God is not seen as the property of only certain religions. The deity of Christ, his virgin birth (“picture theology”), his death, resurrection, ascension and return are outright rejected. The biblical description of heaven and hell has been described as “crude medieval imagery” that does not belong to modern times.

You can believe whatever you want… as long as you don’t believe the “Living Word” – the Lord Jesus Christ – and the “Written Word” – the Bible!

Another group involved in the interfaith movement is Islam. The South African Daily News (24/9/92), reported that the Islamic Relief Agency (ISRA) was behind the interfaith peace march in Durban on 25 September and issued an invitation to the general public to join their march.

Islam is becoming increasingly militant and powerful in our generation.

A special Eid message by Cardinal Francis Arinz, president of the Holy See’s Secretariat for Relations with Believers of Other Faiths, was relayed by the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Durban to the Muslim community in Durban, South Africa. It read in part: “In the month of Ramadan, you show, by prayer and fasting, your faith in God and your submission to His holy will. This faith is in one God, living and true, a faith which is tradition. All spiritual children of Abraham, the father of the believers, Unites the United States as brothers and sisters in God and encourages us to work together for solidarity, justice and peace among all people.”

Our generation is practicing this unholy marriage without understanding its implications.
